Welcome to Chicago Showband
The Chicago Showband from Adelaide South Australia was formed in 2002 by Shirley Gordon and Musical Director John Nicholson with a grant from the Prospect City Council. Since then the band has played in many functions and events such as nursing homes, libraries, Xmas pageants and community events etc.
One of the aims was to take people with limited or no musical experience and teach them how to play or relearn to play an instrument that would work in a band environment.
We're based in Adelaide's North Western suburbs and the band was named after the original name of the suburb of Kilburn.
Another objective of the band is to give enjoyment to as many people as possible without any cost where ever possible.
We are also looking for new members who wish to join a band such as this but have never had the opportunity due to work or family committments. It doesn't matter what level of skill you have we take beginners or retired professionals. The idea is to help each other and pass on knowledge learned over the years. It doesn't what instrument you play or wish to play. We even have a selection of instruments that can hired for a modest fee.
If you play saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, flute, guitar, tuba, bassoon, bass or whatever... we need you. Why not give us a call or drop us an email ?
